What is West Coast Swing?
West Coast Swing is a Modern Swing partner dance
West Coast Swing is a popular partner dance characterized by its smooth, elastic movements and is typically danced to a wide range of music genres, including current music you hear on the radio.
The dance features a unique connection between partners, allowing for creative improvisation unmatched in other partner dances.

Connecting to its roots, WCS evolved from Lindy Hop. Originating in the United States during the 1920s, gaining popularity in the African American communities of Harlem, Lindy Hop became a symbol of vibrant cultural scene during the Jazz Age, with its energetic movements and improvisational nature. As swing music evolved in the 1930-40s, so did the dance, leading to the creation of different styles, and eventually West Coast Swing.
