Meet your Instructors

Kate Garboden, Sam Lingane, and Robert Crocker are the main instructors for WestiePrep, but we often have wonderful guest instructors!

Kate Garboden

With 18+ years of dance experience, Kate is an Advanced WCS dancer who is committed to sharing her knowledge with aspiring dancers. Over the past 12 years, she has loved teaching, new students and enjoys growing the community.

 

She also plays a pivotal role in the dance community, consistently striving for excellence in judging and teaching.

Sam Lingane

Sam is an accomplished Advanced level dancer as well as an accomplished WCS teacher in Seattle. She is also known as DJ Latte and has been DJing since 2018, shortly after she started dancing West Coast Swing.

She moved to Seattle in 2022, where she was welcomed warmly and has been DJing and teaching in the the local dance community since then. She loves to vibe to her favorite mix of late night, hip hop, and groove.

Robert Crocker

Dancing West Coast Swing since 2016, Robert's claim to WCS fame is his Blues and musical knowledge. He is currently and Advanced level competitor and just put his first Rising Star on The Open floor in 2024.
